Accommodation Are you coming to Noosa for a holiday and don’t quite sure which area to stay in? Hastings Street – This is Noosa’s tourist hub, where all the action is – lots of great shopping, restaurants, coffee shops. It has Noosa Main Beach with a patrolled surfing area and properties are either on beach front or across the road from the beach. This is the most expensive area to stay in Noosa, with beachfront properties being at a premium. The Sheraton, Tingirana, On The Beach, Netanya, Noosa Court are some of the premium beachfront properties. So if money is no object then a beachfront property is the ultimate but book ahead as these are extremely popular. There are a lot of mid range properties and also a few budget properties that are still to be redeveloped. It is great for families and couples as you can walk straight out of your hotel to restaurants and shops. Little Cove – Only a short walk back around the boardwalk to Hastings Street depending on which area you are staying at Little Cove it can be anything from a 5 minute walk to 20 minute walk. It is very hilly and set amongst lots of trees and Noosa National Park so don’t expect views as even the properties across the road from the ocean only have filtered views. Not ideal for families with young children unless you are enjoy walking. It is a reasonably quiet area and so close to Hastings Street. There is a lovely swimming beach at Little Cove. We also have First Point Apartments which are the ultimate stay with brilliant ocean views. The Cove, Little Cove Court and Cove Point are some of the properties just across the road from the swimming beach. There is a mixture of standards of accommodation from 2 star to 4 star. Noosa Hill – alot of the properties set up on Noosa Hill do have a view and this is quite a good area to stay. It is just a short walk down to Hastings Street and a short walk down to Noosa Junction which is one of the local shopping areas. Noosa Crest, Noosa Hill Resort, Noosa Blue, Picture Point Terraces are among the properties which have excellent ocean, river or hinterland views. You do have a walk down hill to Hastings Street of 5 -10 minutes and slightly longer for the walk back up. Sunshine Beach – has one long surfing beach which stretches down to Coolum. Beautiful beach and is patrolled. If you like to surf this is the area for you. It is alot quieter area with some restaurants and shops. Some properties have ocean views and a lot of properties are just a short walk 5 -10minutes to the beach. If you want to get down to Hastings Street it is about a 5 – 10 minute drive or there is a local bus service if you don’t have a car. It is suitable for couples and families. Noosa Sound – a man made canal estate that connects Hastings Street to Noosaville. It is a good place to stay as close to Hastings Street – flat walk about 5-15 minutes depending on where you are staying. It offers apartments and houses for rent that are right on the river. There is a shopping centre on Noosa Sound that offers restaurants and general store. It is a good location if you have a tinnie as some properties do have a jetty for mooring your boat. A few properties like Culgoa Point, Sun Lagoon, Noosa Shores do have a small beach area for swimming. Good for families and couples. Noosaville – quiet location set on Noosa River. Mostly apartments which are either on river frontage, across the road from the river or within 5 -10minutes walk of the river. It is a lovely area, and council has developed a lovely walking track along the river front with exercise equipment in the parks. Good for push bike riding. Good for children swimming in the river. There are also a lot of great restaurants, Woolworths supermarket, hotel, and other specialty shops all close by. The Noosa River Ferry runs a regular service from Tewantin, picking up at various jetties in Noosaville and continues to Hastings Street so this is a good way to get around if you don’t have a car. There is also the local bus that runs regularly. |
